Remote Intensive:

Float Design Studio is offering an opportunity for engaged, passionate young designers to join us for a skill-building workshop to help students produce an additional project for their job portfolios.

This is an interiors focused workshop that coaches young designers through a project based on a real-world client brief. Over the course of 2 weeks, designers will work together to produce a concept and include furniture selection and design development communicating a good general vision while receiving one-on-one feedback from professional designers at Float Studio.

This program is remote with potential for an in-person component depending on participants schedule and availability. Those chosen for the program will receive up to $300 in travel stipend and access to the related design software.

We aim to give up and coming designers from marginalized communities a footing in the industry by providing a feel for the commercial design process. The program is tailored to the designers interests and areas they wish to grow.

We are seeking applicants who:

• are from underrepresented communities in the Architecture and Interiors industry
• are rising Juniors or Seniors in college majoring in Architecture or Interior Design OR have graduated from a 2-year program in those fields
• have access to a computer that can run Zoom and Adobe CC
• are New York City based, as there may be in-person shadowing opportunities over the course of the program
